PREDICTION
Not only is this a South Coast derby but it also a six-pointer as Southampton and Brighton square off in their continual battle to avoid the drop this season. The Saints start this set of fixtures in the relegation zone, but Mauricio Pellegrino’s men know that a win would see them move out of the bottom three and maybe even at Brighton’s expense. The Seagulls have not won any of their last five league outings and with their opposition turning in a spirited home performance against Tottenham last time out they will have to dig deep if they are to get anything from this one.

MEMORABLE MEETING
The last time that Southampton beat Brighton on home soil was back in November 2011 when both sides featured in the Championship. The Saints earned local bragging rights thanks to a comprehensive 3-0 win in front of their own fans while Rickie Lambert went home with the match ball that afternoon after scoring a hat-trick.
