Both Leicester and West Ham suffered heavy defeats last weekend. For the former it shows that their season has already ended while for the latter it means that they have been sucked right back into a relegation dog fight.
Claude Puel’s Leicester side were hit for five at Selhurst Park in their last league outing as Crystal Palace took a huge step to securing their own top-flight status for next season. It was a performance that saw Leicester simply go through the motions while dreaming of their summer holidays.
This weekend will be an interesting test to see if Puel can motivate his players. If not, then it could be something that plays into West Ham’s hands. At the same time though their manager David Moyes may have similar issues of his own.
A defeat to Manchester City last Sunday was not one that was unexpected, but the manner of the loss will be of a huge concern to the man whose managerial status for next season is yet to be confirmed.
West Ham are in danger of sliding further down the table as any momentum they have had as of late has been eroded. The fans are getting restless once again and the club need to find not just a performance but all three points.
With Leicester’s minds elsewhere, that is something that in theory they could achieve at the King Power Stadium but with West Ham having their own issues then they may have to settle for a draw at best.
