This is the first time that the two sides have met in the top flight since February 1983. That day saw the two sides play out a stalemate at the Goldstone Ground.

The two clubs have met 20 times before this weekend and Brighton have come out on top on four occasions, while West Brom have won nine of the previous encounters, in amongst seven draws.

Brighton are still looking for their first ever win in the Premier League.

They may have got themselves off the mark with a draw against Watford before the international break, but they are also still looking for their first Premier League goal.

West Brom are unbeaten so far this season and have only conceded a single goal in the process. Peter Crouch is the only man to breach their net.

West Brom have scored just one goal in each of their first three games of the season.

The last time these two sides met in East Sussex was back in March of 1993; A third tier clash which saw Brighton run out 3-1 winners.
