Leigh Centurions vs Catalans Dragons Preview

The Lowdown

  • Leigh have lost their last two matches now and the defeat at home to a beleaguered Widnes side last week ranked as one of their more disappointing performances of the season.
  • Head coach Neil Jukes makes three changes to his squad for this game as he can count on Glenn Stewart after serving a suspension, Gregg McNally after recovering from a knee injury, and Curtis Naughton also returns.
  • Prop Jamie Acton is suspended for this game so he misses out, while Adam Higson and Dayne Weston drop out of the squad as they aim to bounce back after losing the last two games.

Head Coach: Neil Jukes

  • Catalans' abysmal form continued last week as they were hammered at home by Wakefield so the pressure is mounting on coach Laurent Frayssinous to turn things around quickly starting here.
  • Tony Gigot should return after having his suspension overturned, which is a huge boost for the Catalans going into this match with Leigh.
  • Thomas Bosc, Fouad Yaha and Justin Horo all miss out through injury but in come Mickail Simon, Brayden Wiliame and Thibault Margalet to the squad.

Analysis - what to expect
Tony Gigot should return for the Calalans after having his suspension overturned, and that could very well give them the boost they need to spark a reaction from their struggling side. They are struggling to find any form right now and against a physical and energetic Leigh side, they could well be exposed once again if they do not raise their game. The hosts have to be favoured though it is difficult to have great confidence in either side at the moment.
