ISL meetings: Jamshedpur FC W1

Bengaluru FC’S winning streak came to an end last weekend after the ISL table-toppers were held to a draw at home to second-placed FC Pune City. They will however look to return to winning ways this weekend when they go on the road to face Jamshedpur FC.

Steve Coppell’s men are unbeaten in their last four league outings and have earned ten points from a possible 12. This late season resurgence in form sees them start this weeks set of fixtures in fourth place and the club will aspire to earn the last of the available finals series places.

To do so they will need to make sure that they pick up at least a win from their remaining two league stage fixtures, but with them going up against the league leaders it might well be a win that has to wait until their final league outing of the season.

The only previous ISL meeting between the two sides was back in December 2017 and Steve Coppell’s visiting Jamshedpur FC earned something of a relative upset win over Bengaluru FC. There was only one goal in the game and that came courtesy of Matheus Trindade; it was a winner that came in dramatic circumstances as the away side were awarded a penalty in the dying seconds of the game. The Brazilian forward Trindade held his nerve and coolly slotted home to give him and his teammates an unlikely three points.
