Coach: Paddy Upton

Captain: Ajinkya Rahane

  • Rajasthan Royals are running out of matches now as they come off their sixth defeat in eight matches and there is virtually no margin for error so they will have to give it their all in front of their home fans.

  • Ben Stokes missed the game on Tuesday through illness but there is a chance that he will return to the starting line-up here in place of Ish Sodhi who came into the side but proved somewhat expensive, going for 41 from his four overs for just one wicket.

  • Steve Smith was dropped for that match too with Tripathi moved up to open with Buttler and it proved to be a good decision, although Ashton Turner was out for a golden duck as the replacement for Smith so he will need to improve.

Coach: Mahela Jayawardene

Captain: Rohit Sharma

  • Mumbai Indians are one of the form teams in the IPL at the moment having won five of their last six matches and they face a quick turnaround here as there will be just over 36 hours between the start of this match in Jaipur, and the end of the win on Thursday in Delhi against the Capitals.
  • They are in an excellent position to finish in the top four now but they are not certain of it just yet so it is unlikely they will rest key players like Bumrah, though Jason Behrendorff is still not 100% so he is unlikely to be risked, with Cutting likely to start again.

  • Evin Lewis has yet to feature in IPL 2019 but he could be a candidate to come in for a start at some stage soon, but there is every chance that Mumbai go unchanged from the team that comfortably beat Delhi on Thursday.

It is difficult to make a case for Rajasthan Royals especially against a quality team like Mumbai Indians. They can only count on Buttler and Stokes for five more days before they return to England for national team duty, so they may be motivated to go out in style as they aim to impress and help earn themselves a contract next year. However, other than Jofra Archer, the bowling attack is poor on the whole, and it is difficult to see them overcoming such a strong team from one to eleven like Mumbai. Fatigue could possibly be a factor for the visitors, but that is the only real reason not to expect them to win here.
