Coach: Paddy Upton

Captain: Ajinkya Rahane

  • Rajasthan Royals are coming off another crushing defeat on Sunday to Kolkata Knight Riders where they were completely outplayed but luck was also against them with Chris Lynn’s inside edge on to his wicket somehow not dislodging the bails before he went on to hit a half century.

  • Along with some tame bowling, the batting also failed to fire as they could only manage 139/3 from their 20 overs which proved some 40-50 runs short as KKR knocked it off with over six overs remaining and they will have to do much better and score at a quicker rate here.

  • Sanju Samson has missed the last two matches through injury and they have missed him badly so it would be a major boost if they can count on him here while Sudhesan Midhun may miss out after a difficult match last time out.

Coach: Stephen Fleming

Captain: MS Dhoni

  • Chennai Super Kings are the form team in IPL 2019 with five wins from their opening six matches but they will play their next four matches as visitors so that will provide them with a different test away from the favourable conditions on home turf.

  • This game will be their third match in six days and that could lead to skipper MS Dhoni and coach Stephen Fleming deciding to rotate some of their veterans as they have an ageing roster so Mitch Santner will almost certainly come in for Harbhajan Singh or Imran Tahir, while Sam Billings could potentially come into the side too for Shane Watson.

  • The bowling unit has been in stunning form but they will hope their batsmen can contribute a bit more as they have been one of the lowest scoring teams so far, but they should find conditions much more favourable to big-hitting in Jaipur.

The form guide suggests Chennai Super Kings should comfortably win this match but it could be much closer than many expect. The Royals have picked up a losing habit which is not ideal but they are becoming desperate now and have to win if they are to stay in contention with the teams above them on six points. CSK may either make changes or struggle with fatigue after a busy schedule which may give the Royals a chance, and while the Chennai outfit are difficult to oppose, do not rule out a shock Royals win here.
