Coach: Stephen Fleming

Captain: MS Dhoni

  • Chennai Super Kings come into this match as leaders of the IPL ladder but in the unfamiliar position of having lost their last two matches and they will be desperate to bounce back from the loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday where they lost by a solitary run.

  • The major highlight of that match was the return from back problems for MS Dhoni and he once again produced minor miracles to even get his team close to RCB’s target but it also exposed some of the team’s deficiencies as the rest of the batting order failed miserably to support him.

  • Dwayne Bravo’s return to the side is a welcome one while there could be another welcome return for Harbhajan Singh following a neck problem that has kept him out of the last four matches, while it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Shane Watson is rested at the expense of Sam Billings.

Coach: Tom Moody

Captain: Bhuveneshwar Kumar

  • Sunrisers Hyderabad have bounced back from their mini wobble to win their last two matches and return to fourth in the IPL ladder, and they will be keen to consolidate that position with a win against Chennai here.

  • David Warner and Johnny Bairstow continue to be key men for the team but this will be the final match with the partnership together as Bairstow will return for England duty, so they will be desperate to go out on a high with Mohammad Nabi waiting in the wings to come into the side when he does depart.

  • Rashid Khan will be a key man for them on the slow Chennai pitch but there could be a temptation to bring Nabi in here for another frontline spinner and he will likely replace captain Kane Williamson who has sadly had to return home due to a family bereavement.

It is the Sunrisers Hyderabad who come into this clash with Chennai Super Kings with form on their side having won their last two and the home side having lost their last two. The Super Kings will be firing on all cylinders once again here on home turf which suits their playing style and will test Bairstow and Warner significantly. The Sunrisers’ openers can take the game away from any team, but they will not have it their own way here and expect Dhoni and his top class bowling attack to stifle the Sunrisers to get back to winning ways.
