Who won the 2018 Bahrain Grand Prix on? Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari)

  • Ferrari have dominated Bahrain in the past but after their poor showing at the season opener in Melbourne, can Ferrari regain their speed and bounce back? The Italians are confident they have corrected the issues with their slow pace down under.
  • A rejuvenated Valtteri Bottas was in a league of his own in Australia but can he win again in Bahrain? Expectations are high for the Finn, but Lewis Hamilton will be determined to halt the revived team-mate threat.
  • An under-pressure Pierre Gasly needs a strong performance in the Red Bull this week after a disappointing showing in Australia. He was eliminated in qualifying in Q1 and could only recover to 11th in the race, behind the Red Bull sister-team Toro Rosso.
  • Bahrain is a track that should provide much more overtakes and racing spectacle. A twilight race in the desert, with dropping temperatures effecting tyre performance throughout the race. Less than half of the races at Bahrain have seen the pole-sitter take the win.
  • The troubles at Williams look to continue this weekend with reports that a lack of spare parts will hamper them further at the Sakhir circuit.

After a disappointing season opener where he didn’t even make the podium, the heat of the desert and the sweeping corners of the Sakhir circuit should help the Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel recapture the tyre performance and speed.

The Italian squad will seek to show their lack of pace in Australia was a one-off. The prediction is that Sebastian Vettel will take his third consecutive win at Bahrain.
