Bayern Munich have cruised to the Bundesliga title this season even after changing their manager early in the campaign. Jupp Heynckes took over the reigns from Carlo Ancelotti and led Bayern to Champions League success back in 2013 and will now look to bow out from the club in the best possible way.

However, standing in the way of the legendary Heynckes is a Real Madrid side who have won the last two editions of the competition.

Their hopes of winning a third looked like they were going to be up in smoke in the previous round when Juventus took a 3-0 second leg lead at the Santiago Bernabeu, one that wiped out Real Madrid’s first leg advantage. Fortunately for Los Blancos though, they were rescued by a controversial late penalty from who else but Cristiano Ronaldo.

His stoppage time goal now pairs these two teams together once more, with last season’s quarter-final defeat still fresh in the memory for Bayern.

This titanic clash is worthy of a final, but one team will fall by the wayside. Last season Real Madrid won here 2-1, and if they can repeat that feat then they will be favourites to reach a third consecutive final, although this Bayern team will certainly be no pushovers. Just who will draw first blood in Bavaria?
