PREDICTION
After cutting the gap at the top of the A-League table to just five points, the Newcastle Jets slipped up last weekend at the hands of Adelaide United and therefore have ceded further ground to table-toppers Sydney FC.

This weekend they will look to return to winning ways when they play host to a Melbourne City side who require just one more win to make mathematically sure of a play-off berth and the opportunity to extend their season.

City moved above their Melbourne based rivals Victory last weekend with a win over Western Sydney Wanderers and will look to continue their momentum. They may come unstuck this weekend in their search for three points, but they look set to finish in the top six regardless of Sunday’s outcome.

MEMORABLE MEETING
December 2015 paired the two teams together in Newcastle and it was a day to forget for the home side as Melbourne City were rampant on their way to a 4-0 win. Current Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy was the stand-out performer that day as his brace set the visitors well on their way to victory. He would be one of two players to bag a two goal haul that day as Bruno Fornaroli shared the goal scoring spoils.
