PREDICTION
Second place plays host to third this weekend in the A-League as Melbourne City take on the Newcastle Jets. City are currently four points behind the Jets but are unbeaten in their last four outings and with Ernie Merrick’s men visiting them off the back of a defeat, Warren Joyce will be confident of closing the gap between the two teams come full time.

MEMORABLE MEETING
March of last year saw the two sides face off in Melbourne and the Jets would have a long flight home after being dealt a crushing 4-0 away defeat. The evergreen Tim Cahill opened the scoring for City as early as the 12th minute and from there they never looked back as they eased to a comprehensive win.
