Adelaide United play host to Central Coast Mariners this weekend with Marco Kurz’s men in relatively decent form having lost just once in their last six league outings. The same cannot be said for their opponents as they are now ten league matches without a win and if results go against them this weekend they could find themselves at the bottom of the table. If that is the case then they will have to lose and Wellington Phoenix will have to win come Sunday; on current form you’d be confident of at least the first of those two outcomes taking place.

Central Coast Mariners have lost their last three A-League meetings with Adelaide United, and you must go back to February 2017 for their last success. On that occasion, they came out on top after a 2-1 win. Goals from Fabio Ferreira and Kwabena Appiah-Kubi put the Mariners 2-0 ahead and although Jordan O’Doherty scored a last-minute goal, it was nothing more of a scant consolation for Adelaide United.
