All-time meetings: Rob Cross 4-4 Daryl Gurney
Previous meeting: Daryl Gurney 6-2 Rob Cross

  • Rob Cross sits in second place in the league table - only behind league leader Michael van Gerwen on leg difference. Last Thursday night in Rotterdam he bounced back from his defeat against Mensur Suljovic on the previous night by coming back from 3-1 down to defeat Jeffrey de Zwaan 7-4.
  • Cross averaged under 95 in both of his matches in Rotterdam last week – prior to that he had averaged over 100 in six of his opening seven matches of the 2019 Premier League season.
  • Last weekend at the German Darts Championship, he exited the tournament in the last 16 at the hands of Daryl Gurney.

  • Daryl Gurney has won each of his last three Premier League matches and is fourth in the league table only two points behind Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross who are level on points at the top of the table.
  • On night nine he hit a total of six 180s in the process of winning 7-3 against Mensur Suljovic – he has now hit 15 180s during his last four matches which is a huge improvement given that he had a tournament total of seven 180s after five weeks of the 2019 Premier League.
  • Gurney will come into this match with great confidence having won the German Darts Championship last weekend. It was his first European Tour title and moved him up to a career-high of third on the PDC Order of Merit.

Daryl Gurney has done excellently to bounce back from consecutive 7-1 and 7-0 defeats and put himself in the shake-up for the play-off places with three wins and a draw in his last four matches. Having also won a tournament last weekend, the Northern Irishman will relish taking to the stage in front of his home fans on such a good run of form. Prior to Rotterdam, it was Rob Cross who was the form player in the Premier League with four consecutive wins and four consecutive ton-plus averages. His capitulation against Suljovic on night eight put an end to that run and although he won against De Zwaan on night nine, he still performed below his best. Cross enjoyed a 7-1 victory against Gurney earlier on in the season, but Gurney is playing much better now than he was then and he gained some revenge with a 6-2 win on Sunday on his way to winning the aforementioned tournament. The confidence Gurney will be carrying combined with the support of a home crowd can lift him to a fourth consecutive Premier League win.
