All-time meetings
: Luke Humphries 1-0 Gerwyn Price
Previous meeting: Luke Humphries 6-1 Gerwyn Price

  • Luke Humphries takes to the stage as one of the nine replacements for Gary Anderson in the 2019 Premier League. The 24-year-old from Berkshire only earned his tour card at the start of 2018 having finished at the top of the PDC Development Tour Order of Merit in 2017 – a feat he repeated in 2018.
  • Humphries made an impact on the big TV stage in December at the PDC World Championship when he defeated Stephen Bunting, Dimitri Van den Bergh and Rob Cross on his way to the quarter-finals where he lost to eventual runner-up Michael Smith.
  • So far this season he has failed to make it past the second round in any of the six ranking tournaments he has played – although last Friday he did average over 100 in defeating Chris Dobey to qualify for the German Darts Championship.

  • Gerwyn Price is unbeaten so far in the 2019 Premier League having won one and drawn two of his three matches. Last week he recovered from 5-2 down against James Wade to earn a point.
  • The Welshman hit a total of five 180s in the last seven legs of the match against Wade. His total of 12 180s in the tournament after three weeks is the joint highest alongside James Wade and Michael Smith.
  • He enters this fixture full of confidence having won back-to-back ranking tournaments last weekend, and in total across Saturday and Sunday he won 14 consecutive matches and averaged over 100 in ten of those 14 matches.

Gerwyn Price arrives in Exeter on top form with two tournament wins last weekend and a run of 14 consecutive matches won in a row. During the course of winning those tournaments he produced a string of ton-plus averages and he is surely in the form of his darting life. Price has made an unbeaten start in the 2019 Premier League but after two successive draws he will be eager to take two points from this fixture. Luke Humphries actually won their only previous meeting 6-1 at a European Tour event last season; there is no doubt he is a player on the rise with plenty of potential, having showed it on the big stage at the World Championship, but his form since then has not been promising though and it would be a surprise if he stopped the in-form Iceman from claiming a victory.
