Head Coach: Chris Chester

Squad: Annakin, Arona, Caton-Brown, Croft, Crowther, Fifita, Hampshire, Hirst, Horo, Jones-Bishop, Jowitt, Kershaw, King, Kirmond, Kopczak, Lyne, Pauli, Reynolds, Wood

Unavailable: Tyler Randell, Craig Huby, James Batchelor, Tom Johnstone, Danny Brough, Jacob Miller, Anthony England, Joe Arundel, Matty Ashurst

  • Wakefield were made to pay for another slow start as they suffered defeat at the hands of local rivals Castleford on Thursday night and despite a strong fightback in the second half, Trinity fell two points short.

  • Castleford raced into a 22-0 lead and were also 28-8 in front with just 18 minutes remaining but three tries brought Wakefield within touching distance but the Tigers managed to hang on to the lead to claim the win.

  • Wakefield’s injury woes worsened against Castleford with Joe Arundel and Matty Ashurst both picking up knocks and are both set to spend some time on the sidelines with youngsters Lee Kershaw and Jack Croft receiving call-ups to the 19-man squad.

Head Coach: David Furner

Squad: Albert, T. Briscoe, Donaldson, Dwyer, Ferres, Handley, Hurrell, Jones-Buchanan, Lolohea, McLelland, Myler, Newman, Oledzki, Parcell, Peteru, Singleton, L. Sutcliffe, Trout, Watkins

Unavailable: Dom Crosby, Stevie Ward, Carl Ablett, Tom Holroyd, Trent Merrin, Adam Cuthbertson, Jack Walker, Ava Seumanufagai

  • Leeds produced a superb first half performance to blow Huddersfield away as they put their terrible loss to Hull KR behind them by claiming two valuable competition points to pull themselves off the foot of the table on points difference.

  • The Rhinos found themselves 30-0 up at the break and despite taking their foot off the gas in the second half, they still had far too much in the bank for Huddersfield as they claimed just their third league win of the season.

  • David Furner has named the same 19-man squad for the Wakefield fixture but Konrad Hurrell is a doubt after suffering a hamstring injury against the Giants although Nathaniel Peteru will be free to play in this fixture despite being banned for a dangerous lift.

Wakefield’s injury problems escalated even further as they suffered another two injuries in their defeat to Castleford with Trinity now having nine players unavailable. Leeds also have plenty of players unavailable but their squad is more equipped to cope but will be tested again here. The Rhinos secured an important win against Huddersfield on Good Friday and can make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season if they can beat Wakefield and that can be the case with Trinity missing too many key players as well as being very light in the outside backs.
