THE TEAM NEWS

HULL FC

Head Coach: Lee Radford

Squad: Ellis, Faraimo, Griffin, Hadley, Houghton, Kelly, Lane, Litten, Manu, Matongo, Minichiello, Naulago, Paea, Shaul, Sneyd, Taylor, Thompson, Tuimavave, Westerman

Unavailable: Matty Dawson-Jones, Josh Bowden, Chris Green, Josh Bowden, Liam Harris, Jake Connor

  • Hull FC made it back-to-back wins as they defeated Huddersfield in poor conditions and will now be looking to continue their upturn in form as they return to home soil against Leeds Rhinos.

  • The Black and Whites will be without Jake Connor after the mercurial playmaker went off against the Giants last week and is set to spend up to six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.

  • His replacement in the 19-man squad raised a few eyebrows with Scott Taylor returning from a ban after Hull successfully argued that a Reserves fixture counted towards his three-match suspension, making him eligible for this game.

LEEDS RHINOS

Head Coach: David Furner

Squad: Ablett, T. Briscoe, Cuthbertson, Donaldson, Dwyer, Ferres, Handley, Hurrell, Lolohea, Merrin, Myler, Newman, Oledzki, Parcell, Peteru, Singleton, Smith, L. Sutcliffe, Walker

Unavailable: Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Ashton Golding, Dom Crosby, Stevie Ward, Kallum Watkins

  • Leeds were heavily defeated by Wakefield last week meaning the Rhinos have now won just one of their opening five matches as head coach Dave Furner struggles to turn his new side’s fortunes around.

  • The Rhinos have been linked with Cronulla prop Ava Seumanufagai but his signature hasn’t materialised thus far with Leeds seemingly identifying that they need to strengthen their squad in the front row.

  • Jack Walker could return at fullback after he was a late withdrawal last week with Carl Ablett named in the 19-man squad for the first time this season but skipper Kallum Watkins will miss out through injury.

THE PREDICTION

Hull have won two games on the bounce and will be looking to make it three from three as they host Leeds. The Rhinos have endured a terrible start to the season and it could get worse against a confident Hull side who have also been given a big boost by being able to call upon prop Scott Taylor. The Black and Whites won both games whilst he was suspended and he will be able to contribute to the cause as Hull can make it three in a row with Leeds set to struggle once again.
