  • Huddersfield were comfortably outplayed by St. Helens last week with some weak goal line defence and numerous errors which played a big part in their downfall with the Giants’ injury woes hitting them hard too.

  • The Giants lost Joe Wardle to a head knock against St. Helens and he will have to pass the concussion protocol to turn out here although he has been named in an initial 18-man squad with the Giants down to the bare bones.

  • They have eight first-teamers unavailable and will be in a very bad spot if any further injuries strike with several youngsters playing already with the Giants propping up the table after just one win all season.

Head Coach: Tim Sheens

Squad: Addy, Atkin, Bardle, Dagger, Drinkwater, Hall, Hauraki, Keinhorst, Lawler, Lee, Lunt, Masoe, McGuire, Mulhern, Oakes, Rooks, Shaw, Tomkins, Vaivai

Unavailable: Adam Quinlan, Nick Scruton, Ben Crooks, Ryan Lannon, James Greenwood, Lee Jewitt, Mitch Garbutt, Kane Linnett

  • Hull KR threw away a 10-point lead in the second half of their game with Catalans last week as Rovers suffered a disappointing loss but will be looking to right the wrongs of that game with a trip to bottom-placed Huddersfield.

  • Rovers’ injury list became even longer this weekend with the loss of prop Mitch Garbutt to a head knock whilst Kane Linnett is set for a prolonged period on the sidelines after suffering a pectoral injury.

  • In better news for Hull KR, Shaun Lunt could make his long-awaited return to playing action having been named in the 19-man squad whilst youngster Harry Bardle is also in the squad and could make his debut.

Huddersfield were unable to build on their win over Wigan but will be hoping to pick up just their second win of the season as they host Hull KR. Both teams have numerous injuries and are set to field several youngsters but it’s the home side that may be able to come through this game on top. They still have plenty of talent available to them and will look to get on top of Rovers through the middle with the away side missing some size in the pack.
