  • Huddersfield put up a solid effort against St. Helens but were knocked out of the Challenge Cup by the league leaders last week and will now look to get back to winning ways in the league after two consecutive losses.

  • The Giants were slowly getting players back to full fitness but suffered a handful of injuries last week with Alex Mellor, Oliver Roberts and Matty Frawley all dropping out of this week’s squad.

  • Jermaine McGillvary is also doubt after he was a late withdrawal against Saints but has been named for now in an 18-man squad while Jake Wardle also returns here with the Giants set to make several changes to the side that took to the field last week.

Head Coach: Tim Sheens

Squad: Addy, Atkin, Crooks, Drinkwater, Garbutt, Hall, Hauraki, Keinhorst, Lannon, Lawler, Linnett, Maria, McGuire, Mulhern, Oakes, Rooks, Shaw, Tomkins, Vaivai

Unavailable: Adam Quinlan, Nick Scruton, James Greenwood, Mose Masoe, Mitch Garbutt, Lee Jewitt, Tommy Lee, Shaun Lunt

  • Hull KR produced a superb second half display as they fought back from behind to see off Salford and progress in the Challenge Cup which they will hope will be the catalyst to give their league form a boost after four consecutive losses.

  • Rovers are still missing several of their pack but will have on-loan Antoni Maria back for this game after he was ineligible last week whilst Mitch Garbutt has made a quick recovery following knee surgery.

  • Shaun Lunt misses out with a slight knock, along with youngsters Owen Harrison and Will Dagger, whilst Will Oakes could get a chance on the wing after he was also added to last week’s 19.

Huddersfield and Hull KR face-off in a crucial contest at the bottom of the Super League table. Only two points separate the two teams with Rovers just two off bottom side London too. It is likely to be a nervy game early on but should open up after that in what is a tough one to call. The Giants would have fancied their chances on home soil, but the loss of several key players including scrum half Matt Frawley will make this difficult for them and that could lead to Rovers taking the two points as they back up last week’s Challenge Cup win.
