Head Coach: Daryl Powell

Squad: Clare, Clark, Cook, Eden, Foster, Massey, Mata’utia, McMeeken, McShane, Millington, Milner, Minikin, Moors, Rankin, Roberts, Sene-Lefao, Shenton, Trueman, Watts

Unavailable: Luke Gale, Oliver Holmes

  • Castleford will be looking to build on a second successive top four finish but failed to really improve their squad in the off-season with Jordan Rankin the only notable signing.

  • The Tigers have a big void to fill with star halfback Luke Gale ruled out for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon with several players such as Rankin set to battle it out to take his spot in the side.

  • Oliver Holmes is the only other name currently out for the Tigers with them heading into the new season in relatively good health.

Head Coach: Steve McNamara

Squad: Baitieri, Bousquet, Casty, Da Costa, Edwards, Garcia, Gigot, Goudemand, Jullien, Langi, McIlorum, Mead, Moa, Simon, Smith, Tierney, Tomkins, Whitley, Wiliame

Unavailable: Greg Bird, Jodie Broughton

  • Catalans secured their first piece of silverware last season as they claimed the Challenge Cup but now turn their attentions to attempting to challenge for the Super League title.

  • The Dragons have recruited well with Sam Tomkins the main addition, joining the French outfit from Wigan as a marquee signing whilst Matty Smith will be looking to get his career back on track after finding himself out of favour at St Helens.

  • Greg Bird is missing for Catalans after he was sidelined for eight weeks with a broken thumb whilst Jodie Broughton is still recovering from an ACL injury sustained last year.

Castleford's preparations for the 2019 season were badly hampered by the loss of Luke Gale during pre-season and it could prove to be costly for the Tigers. They face a Catalans side keen to show they mean business this year having recruited well and although they aren’t always the best of travellers, this could be the season they turn their fortunes around away from home with the Dragons able to get their season off to a great start here.
