Kim Huybrechts beat Dave Chisnall 6-4

  • Huybrechts put in a brilliant performance in his first round match on Wednesday as he averaged 103.26 in a 3-0 demolition of Daniel Larsson.
  • The Belgian won all nine legs of that match and looked like his old self following a year in which he has struggled to find form mainly due to some personal issues away from darts.
  • Huybrechts' record against Chisnall is not too favourable but he did win their last encounter - a 6-4 victory in the quarter-finals of the European Darts Trophy last year.

  • Chisnall has had a solid year without being spectacular as he has reached three semi-finals and further ten quarter-finals over the course of 2018.
  • Chizzy has suffered a couple of early exits in recent events but his performance levels have still been fairly high so his game is in reasonable shape at the moment.
  • The Englishman has admittedly underwhelmed at Alexandra Palace with one quarter-final appearance (2017) to show from his last seven attempts, and that is a poor return for a player of his ability.

The Ally Pally crowd will be treated to a heavyweight second round clash on Saturday afternoon and there is little to split these two former Premier League players. Chisnall leads the head-to-head 12-5 but Huybrechts delivered an excellent performance in the first round and looks rejuvenated after a tough period in his career. We should see plenty of 180's between these two power scorers and it is one to sit back and enjoy rather than tipping a winner.
