  • Wests Tigers were annihilated by Parramatta as the Eels ran in nine tries in a rampant display with the Tigers unable to live with them and will be looking for an immediate response.

  • Michael Maguire has surprisingly named the same 17 for the Tigers with Robbie Farah and Luke Garner named despite suffering head knocks although both will have to come through the concussion protocol to take the field.

  • Benji Marshall has once again been omitted from the side despite Wests struggling for any sort of attacking fluency recently with Josh Reynolds retained at five-eighth although he could revert to hooker if Farah isn’t fit.

Head Coach: Garth Brennan

Starting 13: Gordon, Don, Peachey, Kelly, Copley, Roberts, Taylor, Boyd, Rein, Fotuaika, Proctor, Cartwright, Arrow – Interchanges: Sami, Hipgrave, King, Whitbread – Reserves: Stockwell, Matthews, Arthars, Jacks

Unavailable: Nathan Peats, Jarrod Wallace, AJ Brimson, Ryan James

  • Gold Coast produced their most impressive performance of the season as they were comfortable winners against Newcastle last week and will be looking for a third consecutive win here.

  • The Titans have suffered a huge blow with skipper Ryan James ruled out for the season with an ACL injury but Kevin Proctor returns this week whilst Keegan Hipgrave comes onto the bench for Jack Stockwell.

  • If the Titans are to extend their winning run, they will have to improve their discipline having conceded the highest number of penalties per game so far this season with 7.5 whilst Wests are conceding the second fewest with 4.7.

Wests Tigers will have little time to dwell on their hammering at the hands of Parramatta with Michael Maguire naming the same 17 to fix what went wrong. The Titans come into this game full of confidence after back-to-back wins and could have too much for Wests here. They have looked impressive in their last two games, especially against the Knights last week and despite losing Ryan James for the season, they have enough talent in their pack to come through this one with the win.
