Head Coach: Paul McGregor

Starting 13: Widdop, Pereira, Aitken, Lafai, Ravalawa, Norman, Hunt, Graham, McInnes, Vaughan, Host, T. Sims, Lawrie – Interchanges: Latimore, Dufty, Kerr, Leilua – Reserves: Lomax, Robson, Allgood, Pearson

Unavailable: Jack de Belin, Korbin Sims, Tyson Frizell

  • St George suffered defeat in their opening game of the season as North Queensland Cowboys proved too strong for them through the middle and they will face another big test here.

  • Tyson Frizell will be unavailable for at least a month for the Dragons after the forward suffered a ruptured testicle in last week's loss to leave St George looking light in the pack for this contest.

  • Josh Kerr comes onto the interchange bench whilst Blake Lawrie is promoted to the run-on side at lock with the Dragons now missing three of their first choice forwards with Frizell joining Jack de Belin and Korbin Sims on the sidelines.

Head Coach: Wayne Bennett

Starting 13: Johnston, Gagai, Inglis, Burns, Graham, Walker, Reynolds, Tatola, Cook, T. Burgess, Sutton, S. Burgess, Murray – Interchanges: Knight, Nicholls, Lowe, Turner – Reserves: Allan, Tracey, Kennedy, Hiroti

Unavailable: George Burgess, Dean Britt, Kurt Dillon, Adam Doueihi

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs were impressive winners in their season opener as they beat fierce rivals and reigning Premiers Sydney Roosters to signal their intentions for 2019 in the notable victory.

  • The Rabbitohs came away from the game with a clean bill of health but have made a change to their 17 with Kyle Turner coming onto the bench in place of Corey Allan who is named as 18th man.

  • South Sydney won the game through the middle last week as they made 1,632 metres and that looks like being their big strength this season with George Burgess also set to return to the fold shortly.

South Sydney got their season under way in the best possible fashion as they thoroughly deserved to topple last season's champions, Sydney Roosters. The Dragons got rolled by a big Cowboys pack and with the Rabbitohs also boasting plenty of size through the middle, they could struggle again. With Tyson Frizell now added to the Dragons’ list of unavailable players, they are looking light in the pack and Souths can take full advantage to start the season with back-to-back wins.
