Head Coach: Paul Green

Starting 13: Kahu, O’Neill, Opacic, Tuala, Hampton, Clifford, Morgan, Scott, Granville, McLean, Cooper, McGuire, Asiata – Interchanges: Baptiste, Hess, Bolton, Molo – Reserves: Jensen, Dunn, Taumalolo, Gela-Mosby

  • North Queensland failed to build on their win over New Zealand Warriors as they suffered a disappointing defeat to Canterbury but will hope to bounce back as they host another struggling side in Gold Coast.

  • Te Maire Martin has been ruled out indefinitely after it was discovered he had been suffering from a bleed on the brain and has been replaced in the fullback role by Jordan Kahu with Tom Opacic coming in at centre.

  • Jason Taumalolo remained on the sidelines for the Cowboys having been named amongst the reserves last week but could return here if he can prove his fitness on game day having been named as a reserve again.

Head Coach: Garth Brennan

Starting 13: Gordon, Don, Peachey, Kelly, Sami, Roberts, Taylor, Wallace, Rein, Boyd, Proctor, Cartwright, Arrow – Interchanges: Brimson, Fotuaika, Hipgrave, King – Reserves: Stockwell, Whitbread, Stockwell, Matthews, Arthars

Unavailable: Nathan Peats, Ryan James, Dale Copley

  • Gold Coast's two-match winning streak was brought to an end after some poor defence saw them blow a 14-point lead against Wests Tigers with the Titans missing 30 tackles in the match.

  • Dale Copley suffered a leg injury during the defeat to the Tigers and has been ruled out with Phillip Sami taking his place on the wing whilst AJ Brimson comes onto the bench as the utility having recovered from an injury of his own.

  • Maroons hopeful Jarrod Wallace is also back in the side after he completed his suspension with Moeaki Fotuaika dropping to the bench whilst Jai Whitbread and Jack Stockwell both lost their places in the 17.

North Queensland put in a poor performance as they failed to build on their win last week as they suffered a disappointing loss to Canterbury. Gold Coast also suffered a defeat at the hands of Wests Tigers despite leading 0-14 with both teams very much struggling so far this season. This game could go either way and with the Cowboys having to name Jordan Kahu at fullback in the absence of Te Maire Martin, that upheaval could be enough for the Titans to edge a tight contest.
