  • Gold Coast threw up another disappointing performance as they suffered defeat at fellow strugglers North Queensland Cowboys with the Titans now languishing alongside four other teams with just two wins to their name.

  • Phil Sami and Tyrone Roberts are out for the Titans after picking up injuries and that sees Dale Copley make a sooner than expected return on the wing in place of Sami whilst AJ Brimson is promoted to the run-on side.

  • Jesse Arthars has also secured a place on the bench and in some better news for Gold Coast, fullback Michael Gordon has been named in the side having looked to be a doubt after copping a knock last week.

Head Coach: John Morris

Starting 13: Dugan, Feki, Xerri, Morris, Gray, Flanagan, Townsend, Fifita, J. Brailey, Prior, Nikora, Capewell, Gallen – Interchanges: B. Brailey, Bukuya, Williams, Hamlin-Uele – Reserves: Sorensen, Katoa, Magoulias, Kennedy

Unavailable: Wade Graham, Matt Moylan, Aaron Woods, Shaun Johnson

  • Cronulla's young guns produced a thrilling effort to shock Melbourne last week with their side now coining the name Baby Sharks and will be confident they can make it two wins in a row as they face Gold Coast.

  • The Sharks avoided any further injuries against the Storm with Josh Dugan coming through unscathed after he was a late inclusion and he is once again named to start at fullback with Will Kennedy in the reserves.

  • Cronulla have made one change to their winning side from last week with Sione Katoa dropping out and Aaron Gray taking his place whilst Sosaia Feki reverts to his favoured position on the right wing having played left last week.

Gold Coast and Cronulla kick-off the first ever NRL Magic Round with Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium hosting all eight fixtures across four days. The Titans will need to be much improved here against a Sharks side that will be on a huge high after knocking off the Storm and they can win again here. The young Cronulla outfit overcame plenty of adversity for the win and will have the belief that they can beat anybody despite missing some big names. The Titans have been poor this season and with their defensive efforts letting them down, Cronulla will have too much for them.
