THE TEAM NEWS

CRONULLA-SUTHERLAND SHARKS

Head Coach: John Morris

Starting 13: Dugan, Feki, Xerri, Morris, Katoa, Johnson, Townsend, Fifita, J. Brailey, Prior, Nikora, Capewell, Gallen – Interchanges: B. Brailey, Bukuya, Williams, Sorensen – Reserves: Flanagan, Kennedy, Hamlin-Uele, Gray

Unavailable: Wade Graham, Matt Moylan, Aaron Woods

  • Cronulla's under-strength side went down to Parramatta last week and now they face a red-hot Sydney Roosters outfit at Shark Park as they look to bounce back from that disappointment.

  • Aaron Woods suffered a broken foot last week but the Sharks have received some better news following the late withdrawal of both Shaun Johnson and Paul Gallen, with the pair back in the side here.

  • Kyle Flanagan replaced Johnson last week but doesn’t retain his place in the 17, however Jayson Bukuya is the fortunate recipient of Woods’ bench spot after he had replaced Gallen at lock last week.

SYDNEY ROOSTERS

Head Coach: Trent Robinson

Starting 13: Tedesco, Tupou, Mitchell, Manu, Ikuvalu, Keary, Cronk, Waerea-Hargreaves, Radley, Taukeiaho, Cordner, Crichton, Liu – Interchanges: Collins, Tetevano, Faamausili, Aubusson – Reserves: Butcher, Tupouniua, Verrills, Lam

Unavailable: Ryan Hall, Billy Smith, Brett Morris, Jake Friend

  • Sydney Roosters were far too good for Brisbane as they beat the Broncos by a record score last week to continue their good form and will now head to Shark Park to try and make it four wins in a row.

  • Cooper Cronk and Siosiua Taukeiaho were doubts for the Roosters with injuries sustained last week but both have been named in the 17 and don’t appear to be in any doubt of taking the field.

  • In a further boost for the Tricolours, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has recovered from the rib injury that forced him to pull out of the Broncos game with Zane Tetevano reverting to the bench and Nat Butcher dropping out.

THE PREDICTION

Cronulla's injury list got the better of them against Parramatta last week as they missed too much talent with the Eels taking advantage. The Roosters travel to Shark Park this week on the back of three-straight wins and will be confident of making it four. They have looked very impressive since their opening round defeat against the Rabbitohs and it will take a very good side to stop them if they can maintain their current level of performance. The Sharks will be competitive but are likely to fall short here.
