Head Coach: John Morris

Starting 13: Moylan, Feki, Dugan, Morris, Katoa, Johnson, Townsend, Fifita, J. Brailey, Prior, Nikora, Capewell, Gallen – Interchanges: B. Brailey, Bukuya, Woods, Williams – Reserves: Sorensen, Flanagan

  • Cronulla suffered a late defeat in their season opener as Edrick Lee intercepted Chad Townsend's pass to give Newcastle a 14-8 win in a very well-matched contest which had looked destined for golden point.

  • The Sharks have named an unchanged line-up this week after coming through Knights game unharmed although Scott Sorensen could receive a late call-up having been named as 18th man.

  • Cronulla have several areas they will have been working on in training ahead of hosting the Titans but one thing in particular they will be keen to address is their completion rate having completed at just 60% last week.

Head Coach: Garth Brennan

Starting 13: Gordon, Don, Peachey, Kelly, Lee, Brimson, Jacks, Wallace, Peats, Boyd, Proctor, James, Arrow – Interchanges: Sami, Fotuaika, King, Cartwright – Reserves: Rein, Whitbread

Unavailable: Jack Stockwell, Will Matthews, Keegan Hipgrave, Tyrone Roberts, Ash Taylor

  • Gold Coast's season got off to the worst possible start as they were kept scoreless by Canberra as they suffered a 0-21 defeat and now face a tough trip to Shark Park to face Cronulla.

  • The Titans will be without first-choice halfback pair Ash Taylor and Tyrone Roberts for the Sharks clash after they picked up injuries before and during the clash with Canberra respectively.

  • AJ Brimson and Ryley Jacks will form the new partnership in the halves with the inexperienced pair having a difficult task on their hands to guide their team around the pitch whilst Anthony Don has earned a recall on the wing with Phillip Sami dropping to the bench.

Cronulla were narrowly beaten by Newcastle last week but will head home to Shark Park as they seek their first win of the season. They host a Gold Coast side that failed to post a single point last week and will travel without their first-choice halfback pairing. Even at full-strength it would have been a tough assignment but with an inexperienced combination at a notoriously tough ground to play at, the Titans will struggle for points again and the Sharks will earn their first win of the season.
