Head Coach: Anthony Seibold

Starting 13: Boyd, Kennar, Staggs, Shibasaki, Isaako, Milford, Dearden, Lodge, Turpin, Haas, Glenn, Fifita, Pangai Jnr. – Interchanges: McCullough, Flegler, Carrigan, Su’A – Reserves: Perese, Fensom

Unavailable: Jack Bird, Corey Oates, Matt Gillett, Joe Ofahengaue

  • Brisbane look to have turned the corner after conceding just one try in their last two matches with wins against the Roosters and Warriors and now host a poor Gold Coast outfit as they look for a fourth consecutive win.

  • Hooker Andrew McCullough makes a welcome return for the Broncos but despite naming their five Origin players to back-up, they will now be without three of those as Corey Oates and Joe Ofahengaue picked up knocks whilst Matt Gillett is rested.

  • Richie Kennar comes onto the wing in place of Oates to make his debut for the Broncos whilst Patrick Carrigan and Jaydn Su’A come onto the bench with David Fifita promoted to the run-on side.

Head Coach: Garth Brennan

Starting 13: Brimson, Don, Arthars, Kelly, Copley, Roberts, Jacks, Wallace, Rein, Fotuaika, Proctor, Hipgrave, Arrow – Interchanges: Peachey, Cartwright, Whitbread, Stockwell – Reserves: King, Peats

Unavailable: Ryan James, Phil Sami, Michael Gordon, Ash Taylor

  • Gold Coast blew numerous chances to win the game as they failed to make it back-to-back wins when losing to North Queensland last week and now face a tough test against South East Queensland rivals Brisbane.

  • Jai Arrow will back-up after Origin for the Titans whilst Nathan Peats could return following a pec injury after being named as a reserve with the rake expected to be a late inclusion in the side.

  • Ash Taylor has been out of sorts all season and has now been granted a period of leave by the club as he attempts to resolve some off-field issues and that presents Ryley Jacks with a chance to impress in the halves.

Brisbane will hope the bye week and Origin does not disrupt them too much after they were impressive in their two previous games. They host a Gold Coast side that they will feel presents another great chance for a win and the Broncos should be able to make it four wins in a row. They have been impressive in their last two matches in particular and despite missing a handful of players because of Origin, their defensive efforts are likely to be enough to repel anything that Gold Coast will throw their way.
