  • France kicked off the tournament they are hosting with a superb victory over South Korea as they put on a show for the huge crowd at Parc des Princes to get their campaign off to the perfect start.
  • The French bagged four goals and it could have been more as they played with plenty of energy which proved too much for the Koreans who were completely outclassed by one of the tournament favourites.
  • France have now won six games on the trot thanks to the 4-0 win and could name an unchanged side for their clash with Norway unless coach Corinne Diacre decides to rotate her side to keep the players fresh.

  • Norway kicked off their 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign with a straightforward victory over Nigeria with a goal within the opening 20 minutes settling any nerves they might have had.
  • A further two first half goals followed to complete the scoring in a 3-0 win as the Norweigans took their foot off the gas in the second half knowing they had the game in the bag with much bigger tests to come.
  • They now face France in what looks like a daunting task against the hosts after their performance in their opening match against South Korea but they will be competitive and should come into the game with an unchanged line-up.

France laid down a marker for all to see as they kicked off the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup with a bang with a superb performance to see off South Korea. Their performance was of the highest quality and there is still more to come from the hosts. Norway will pose some problems for them after they too secured a comfortable win to begin the tournament but the French are difficult to back against based on their first game and should have too much here.
