Coach: Tom Moody

Captain: Mashrafe Mortaza

  • Rangpur Riders come into this qualifier having ended the group stage in stunning form as they won their last six matches in a row to finish top of the ladder and they finished in style on Saturday as they overwhelmed their opponents Comilla Victorians by bowling them out for just 72.
  • Ravi Bopara came into the side for the injured Alex Hales and produced a stunning display to take 3 for 7 from his three overs and he has likely sealed his place in the team for the knockout phase now given that performance.
  • They have something of a psychological edge over the Victorians after hammering them twice as they bowled them out for just 63 earlier in the tournament too so they will look to produce a similar performance here to maintain their edge over them.

Coach: Mohammad Salahuddin

Captain: Imrul Kayes

  • Comilla Victorians ended their excellent group stage with a poor display on Saturday as they were comprehensively beaten for a second time by the Rangpur Riders so that could have something of a psychological impact on them as they face off for a third time.
  • They rested key overseas stars Evin Lewis who has been struggling with hamstring and groin issues and he could be left out once again here, while veteran Shahid Afridi could also come back in here after missing the defeat on Saturday.
  • The Victorians will be hoping that they can win the toss and chase as batting first against the Riders in both matches has not worked well for them at all, so that could be key to their hopes in this match and bid to reach the final at the first attempt.

With this match offering a route directly to the final, both teams are likely to field their strongest line-ups in contrast to their game on Saturday where the Victorians rested Lewis and Afridi. They should return to the line-up but they will have to overcome any psychological edge that the Riders have over them after having hammered them twice already this season. The Riders have been rampant in the last couple of weeks and the inclusion of Bopara may benefit the balance of the team. Difficult to see anything other than a win for the Riders unless the Victorians can raise their game significantly.
