All-time meetings: Rajshahi Kings W3, Rangpur Riders W1
Last meeting: Rajshahi Kings beat Rangpur Riders by 8 wickets

Coach: Lance Klusener

Captain: Mehedy Hasan Miraz

  • Rajshahi Kings beat the winless Khulna Titans but have also lost to Comilla Victorians and Dhaka Dynamites so they are under some pressure here to get a win against a team that is currently in the top four places.

  • The opening partnership has been an issue for them so far which is why skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz moved up last time out and he continued his fine form, but there are too many other batsmen that are not in form like Soumya Sarkar and Laurie Evans especially.

  • They have few options to change things around in terms of other players in their squad unless they decide to Ryan ten Doeschate or Christiaan Jonker back into the side with Laurie Evans the most vulnerable to being dropped out of the side.

Coach: Tom Moody

Captain: Mashrafe Mortaza

  • The Rangpur Riders have yet to find any real consistency in their play having won two but also lost two matches and after the narrow two run loss to the Dhaka Dynamites, they will be keen to bounce back here with a win.

  • Rilee Rossouw continued his fine start to the BPL with 83 in the loss to the Dynamites but they are awaiting Chris Gayle to get firing with the bat after having struggled in his two innings so far.

  • The tactic of bowling Mashrafe Mortaza out at the start of the innings was not quite as successful last time out but they will not be concerned by that, and the likelihood is that they name a similar line-up after a reasonable performance against the Dynamites.

While the Riders sit just two points ahead of the Kings in the standings, the quality of their play so far has been much greater. The Rangpur outfit are playing some good cricket and they still have margin for improvement with both bat and ball. The Kings on the other hand do not possess the same quality in terms of their overseas players and their locals are struggling too. This should be a comfortable win for the Riders.
