Coach: Mohammad Salahuddin

Captain: Imrul Kayes

  • Comilla Victorians have been one of the standout teams in the Bangladesh Premier League so far this year and they will be looking to win their second BPL crown in their fourth campaign after picking up the trophy in their debut season in 2015.

  • After finishing second in the group, the Victorians won the qualifier against Rangpur Riders by eight wickets and it could have been more comprehensive too so that bodes well for this match against the improving Dhaka Dynamites outfit.

  • The team has been relatively settled in recent matches which has benefitted them especially with rest days in between matches that has allowed the injured Evin Lewis and veteran Shahid Afridi to recover sufficiently as they will be key figures for them in this final.

Coach: Khaled Mahmud

Captain: Shakib Al Hasan

  • Despite scraping into the final play-off places in their final group game after losing their six previous matches, the Dynamites’ confidence is returning with every game and they have beaten Chittagong Vikings and Rangpur Riders in two knockout matches to reach the final.

  • Their bowling attack has performed well on home turf by restricting opponents to modest totals and that has made a notable difference to the team and enabled the return to form of their batting line-up as they have won their last three matches with three overs or more to spare in each of them.

  • Pollard and Russell continue to provide the fireworks when needed, while Tharanga and Narine are performing well at the top of the order as so many of their key figures are finding form at a crunch time of the competition.

Both teams come into this final with good form behind them as the Comilla Victorians have been the most consistent performers over the whole tournament, while the most successful team in BPL history – the Dhaka Dynamites – are finding form at just the right time. The Dynamites’ stars are hitting their stride nicely coming into this game and they have the know-how and experience of performing in the key games. The Victorians however have had the best balanced side throughout the tournament and that may just give them the edge in a tight game that will ultimately come down to which set of all-rounders produce the goods.
