  • Salford produced an abject performance as they were defeated by Catalans at Magic Weekend. The Red Devils now sit just one point ahead of ninth-placed Huddersfield after their 12-26 loss last week.

  • Ian Watson has made three changes to his side with Jake Shorrocks, Ryan Lannon and Ben Nakubuwai all returning. Kris Welham misses out through injury whilst Lama Tasi and Jack Littlejohn also miss out on the 19.

  • Salford have lost their last four matches in all competitions but return to home soil where four of their five wins have been earned this season.

Head Coach: Simon Woolford

Squad: Brough, Clough, Cudjoe, English, Gaskell, Hinchcliffe, Ikahihifo, Leeming, Mamo, McGillvary, McIntosh, Mellor, Murphy, O’Brien, Rankin, Roberts, Smith, Ta’ai, Turner

Unavailable: Dale Ferguson, Colton Roche, Shannon Wakeman, Adam Walne, Jacob Wardle, Sam Wood, Tyler Dickinson, Michael Lawrence

  • Huddersfield produced a solid display at Magic Weekend to win back-to-back Super League games for the first time this season and third straight win in all competitions. Wakefield were their victims for the second week running as the Giants claimed a narrow 22-25 win.

  • Chris Thorman will once again take interim charge of the Giants with new head coach Simon Woolford still not having arrived in the country. He is able to name captain Leroy Cudjoe in the 19-man squad for the first time this season with Daniel Smith also returning with Michael Lawrence and Tyler Dickinson dropping out.

  • Huddersfield now sit just one point outside of the top 8 having won as many games in their last two Super League games as they had managed in their previous 17 extending into last season’s Super 8s.

Huddersfield’s recent upturn in form can see them leapfrog their opponents Salford with a win in this crucial match-up. The Giants have won their last three games in all competitions whilst Salford have lost their last four with both of these coming into the game in very differing form. The Red Devils were awful in defeat against Catalans last week and will need a huge improvement to prevent that run being extended to five. The Giants on the other hand will fancy their chances having managed to string several good performances together recently. Although Salford’s home form is good, Huddersfield can maintain their winning run and take Salford’s place in the top 8.
