Squad: Briscoe, Cuthberton, Delaney, Dwyer, Ferres, Garbutt, Golding, Hall, Handley, Lilley, Myler, Oledzki, Ormondroyd, Parcell, Smith, Sutcliffe, Walker, Walters, Ward

  • Leeds came out on top of an ill-tempered Challenge Cup tie with Championship side Leigh last week as the Rhinos managed to comfortably see off the 11-man Centurions. This win provided some respite for their poor league form having lost again in their last outing, going down 33-20 to Catalans.

  • The Rhinos are able to welcome back Mitch Garbutt and Liam Sutcliffe from long lay-offs but will be without Carl Ablett and Jimmy Keinhorst who suffered injuries in last week’s game. Anthony Mullally also copped another ban for raising his knees.

  • Leeds have lost their last three Super League games and have conceded at least 33 points in each of those games.

Head Coach: Simon Woolford

Squad: Clough, Cudjoe, English, Gaskell, Hinchcliffe, Ikahihifo, Lawrence, Leeming, McGillvary, McIntosh, Mellor, Murphy, O’Brien, Rankin, Russell, I. Senior, Smith, Turner, Wood

Unavailable: Dale Ferguson, Colton Roche, Adam Walne, Tyler Dickinson, Ukuma Ta’ai, Jake Mamo, Danny Brough, Oliver Roberts

  • Huddersfield’s run of four back-to-back wins was abruptly ended by Catalans in the Challenge Cup last week as the Giants crashed out of the competition. They were unable to maintain their good run of form with their last league outing away at Salford producing their third Super League win in a row as they came out 16-24 victors.

  • The Giants have been hit by some big losses this week with the news that Jake Mamo will miss another sustained period through injury. Danny Brough will also serve yet another ban after he was given a three-game ban for dangerous contact. Academy players Innes Senior and Oliver Russell have been given call-ups to the 19-man squad.

  • Huddersfield’s win over Salford in their last league encounter saw the Giants leapfrog the Red Devils and with it, a place in the top 8 for the first time this season.

These two teams enter this game in contrasting league form with Leeds having lost their last three whilst Huddersfield have won their last three. However, a Challenge Cup win for Leeds last week might be the catalyst for the Rhinos to rediscover their league form. The Giants on the other hand were extremely disappointing as they crashed out of the Cup at home to Catalans. Huddersfield’s misery was compounded by the loss of Jake Mamo and Danny Brough through injury and suspension respectively. It will be a tough ask for the Giants to bounce back from last week without a couple of their key players with the Rhinos able to get back to winning ways.
