Hull KR produced their best performance of the season as they were far too good for Huddersfield last week. Rovers went behind early on but ran out convincing 6-38 winners.
Head coach Tim Sheens makes just one change to his 19-man squad from last week with youngster Will Dagger replacing Nick Scruton.
The Robins will need to produce a similar display to last week if they are to overcome St Helens with particular emphasis on their defence. Rovers have conceded an average of 18.7 points per game this season but having conceded just six last week, they will be hoping to bring that figure down even further.
St Helens suffered their first defeat of the season as they were defeated by Leeds Rhinos last week. Saints were level at the break but Leeds were too good in the second half and consigned the hosts to a 20-28 defeat.
Head coach Justin Holbrook must do without Alex Walmsley for a prolonged period after it was confirmed he had suffered a fractured bone in his neck. Ryan Morgan drops out of last week’s 19-man squad and is replaced by Morgan Knowles who has completed his four-match ban.
The 20 points that St Helens scored against Leeds was their lowest of the season which brought their average per game down to 29.5. They will look for some more fluidity in attack this week as they attempt to bounce back at the first opportunity.
Hull KR produced an impressive display to defeat Huddersfield last week but now host a St Helens side looking to respond to their first loss of the season. Rovers kept the Giants scoreless for 72 minutes but will face a much sterner test against the league leaders. Saints were beaten by the better side last week but will be looking to respond with a strong display here and should get back to winning ways although Hull KR will look to pounce on any complacency.
