THE STATISTICS

THE LOWDOWN

CATALANS DRAGONS

Head Coach: Steve McNamara

Squad: Anderson, Bird, Bousquet, Broughton, Casty, Da Costa, Drinkwater, Garcia, Gigot, Goudemand, Jullien, Maria, McIlorum, Mead, Moa, Simon, Thornley, Tierney, Wiliame

Unavailable: Paul Aiton, Fouad Yaha, Lucas Albert, Thibaud Margalet, Samisoni Langi, Jason Baitieri

  • Catalans moved off the bottom of the Super League table as they defeated Salford at Magic Weekend. The Dragons were the better team for the majority of a low-quality game and claimed two valuable competition points with a 12-26 win.

  • Young forward Mickael Goudemand comes into the squad for the injured Jason Baitieri in the only change to last week’s 19.

  • Catalans have now won three of their last six Super League games having won just one of the eight before that.

LEEDS RHINOS

Head Coach: Brian McDermott

Squad: Ablett, Briscoe, Cuthberton, Delaney, Dwyer, Ferres, Golding, Hall, Handley, Keinhorst, Lilley, Myler, Oledzki, Ormondroyd, Parcell, Smith, Walker, Walters, Ward

Unavailable: Mitch Garbutt, Liam Sutcliffe, Anthony Mullally, Brad Singleton, Kallum Watkins, Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Nathaniel Peteru, Joel Moon

  • Leeds produced an awful display as they were comprehensively beaten by Castleford at Magic Weekend. The Rhinos were poor on both sides of the ball as the Tigers eased to a 38-10 victory.

  • Brian McDermott has been forced into making four changes to his 19-man squad with Kallum Watkins ruled out for the season with an ACL injury whilst Joel Moon, Nathaniel Peteru and Jamie Jones-Buchanan are also unavailable. Jordan Lilley, Jimmy Keinhorst, Jack Ormondroyd and Josh Walters all come into the squad.

  • Leeds have won just two of their last six Super League matches which has seen them slip to sixth in the table, three points off the top 4.

THE PREDICTION

Catalans have enjoyed a recent run of good results and will face an under-strength Leeds side as they attempt to keep alive their hopes of avoiding the Middle 8s. The Rhinos have lost captain Kallum Watkins for the season to a knee injury whilst they are also without a host of other first-teamers for the trip to the South of France. Leeds have been poor recently and are sliding down the table with a loss here putting a further dent in their hopes of finishing inside the top 4 come the split after Round 23. The Dragons will fancy their chances of adding another win here and they can do just that.
