Coach: Grant Morgan

Captain: Albie Morkel

  • The Heat come into their opening match of the Mzansi Super League determined to make a strong start although they know they face a tough opponent in the Cape Town Blitz after their impressive performance in the tournament opener.

  • They will be without a variety of international stars for their opening match as South African internationals David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen, Afghanistan magician Rashid Khan and Zimbabwe's Brendon Mavuta are all unavailable for this game.

  • Hashim Amla Temba Bavuma and Morne van Wyk will be vital components in the batting line-up which looks a little light with their two South African internationals, but the bowling attack is one of the best in the tournament with skipper Albie Morkel, Vernon Philander, Keshav Maharaj and Kyle Abbott forming an impressive unit.

Coach: Ashwell Prince

Captain: Dawid Malan

  • Cape Town Blitz kicked off their MSL campaign in stunning fashion by hammering the favoured Tshwane Spartans by 49 runs which was all the more impressive without Quinton de Kock and Farhaan Behardien who are away with the national team.

  • Dale Steyn will be available for this match so the Blitz selectors have the difficult decision of who to leave out for the South African international star especially after such an impressive opening match and it may be Siboto who makes way.

  • Mohammad Nawaz and Kyle Verreynne produced superb half centuries in the win on Friday and the batsmen will have to produce the goods once again as they come up against arguably the best bowling attack in the tournament here.

A fantastic match in store here as the Durban Heat play their opening game of the MSL and they face Cape Town Blitz who were superb in their first match. Both teams are missing some key players and Durban figure to be one of the more impressive teams on paper once Miller, Klaasen, and Rashid Khan return. The Blitz however were outstanding in their first match so have form on their side and can count upon Dale Steyn for this match. They will be keen to take advantage of a weakened Heat side and they may just have an edge although this is another tough one to call.
