  • Sweden produced an outstanding display to beat Mexico 3-0 in the final group match so they enter the knockout phase in great spirits.
  • They will have to do without Larsson who is suspended for this match so Svensson is likely to step into his shoes in central midfield.
  • Ekdal picked up a knock in the Mexico game and will require a late fitness test so Hiljemark is on standby to come in for him.

Predicted line-up (4-4-2):

Lustig, Lindelof, Granqvist, Augustinsson

Claessen, Svensson, Ekdal, Forsberg

Toivonen, Berg

Unavailable: Larsson

Doubtful: Ekdal

  • Switzerland edged into the Round of 16 following a 2-2 draw with Costa Rica but they competed well in all three group stage matches.
  • They have to do without Schar and Lichtsteiner who are both banned here so Lang and Djourou will come into the back four for this game.
  • The rest of the team will remain the same however as Petkovic has been content with the majority of his team and keeping a settled side.

Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1):

Lang, Djourou, Akanji, Rodriguez

Xhaka, Behrami

Shaqiri, Dzemaili, Zuber; Gavranovic

Unavailable: Schar, Lichtsteiner

Doubtful: None

Both of these teams are difficult to beat and that is largely because they base their style on being organised and difficult to break down. There are absentees on both sides which may affect their performance, but it is still hard to see many goals in this one so consider under 2.5 goals.
