Poland were disappointing in the loss to Senegal in their opening match and the pressure is on now to beat Colombia to get back on track but they will have to improve their performance levels significantly.
Coach Adam Nawalka will consider changes and he was particularly disappointed with the right side of his team so they may change things and the fact that Blaszczykowski is an injury doubt should lead to a change.
Linetty could come into midfield with Zielinski moving out to the right and that would stiffen the midfield up somewhat as that was an issue against Senegal in the fairly attacking line-up that Nawalka started with.
Predicted line-up (4-4-2):
Piszczek, Cionek, Pazdan, Rybus
Zielinksi, Krychowiak, Linetty, Grosicki
Colombia will be desperate to kick-start their World Cup after their opening game with Japan was compromised by a second minute red card for Carlos Sanchez that came after some poor defending by Davinson Sanchez.
Carlos Sanchez is suspended for this game which should see Barrios come into central midfield but Pekerman may consider other changes after that disappointing start.
James Rodriguez and Muriel are two candidates to come into the side while Barcelona defender Mina may also be handed a start, but it is the inclusion of James Rodriguez that may spark a reaction as a fans’ favourite.
Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1):
Arias, Murillo, D. Sanchez, Fabra
Cuadrado, Quintero, Izquierdo
Unavailable: C. Sanchez
The pressure is firmly on both of these teams to get the win and that could lead to a more open game here. With two of the hottest goalscorers playing for either team, expect both teams to score with Lewandowski and Falcao desperate to get off the mark in Russia. Colombia are marginally favoured but with no real confidence.
