Alex “Alekzandur” Betancourt competes on the Xbox One and is the only North American player to qualify for the 2018 FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final. He represents MLS club Sporting Kansas City and has appeared for them this season at the inaugural eMLS Cup. He will be seeded eighth at the Grand Final.

“Alekzandur” had to go through the Last Chance Qualifier to make it to the Global Series Playoffs in Amsterdam, but it was the Dutch capital where he truly showed his full potential. After winning six matches from seven in the Swiss-style group stage, the American sealed his place at the 02 Arena in London with a 4-3 aggregate win over “Schwenker1991”. He went on to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament, pocketing $10,000 in the process.
