Italy 10-68 New Zealand

Head Coach: Conor O’Shea

  • Italy are coming off the back of a defeat at the hands of Australia as they lost 26-7 with Marika Koroibete scoring twice.

  • With many people calling for the Italians to be replaced in the Six Nations, they managed to beat Georgia two weeks ago to silence their critics.

  • Despite the positive impact head coach Conor O’Shea has made, matches with southern hemisphere teams highlight the difference in quality between the Italians and teams where rugby is the primary sport.

Head Coach: Steve Hansen

  • New Zealand have had a strange set of Autumn internationals, with some results possibly papering over the cracks in the team. However, all their frailties were highlighted against Ireland on Sunday as they lost 16-9.

  • The All Blacks failed to score a try in the game which was the first time this has occurred in 23 Tests and just the second time in over four years.

  • The result was the first time the Irish had beaten New Zealand on Irish soil, having beaten them for the first time in their history in Chicago two years ago.

Despite the problems the All Blacks are showing at the moment, this has all the makings of a game where they can reclaim some of their lost form. New Zealand have never lost to Italy and in their 13 matches against one another, Italy have scored 128 points, whereas New Zealand have scored 754. Although they are showing signs of weakness, the All Blacks will have to produce a horrible display to lose against Italy.
