England 60-7 Japan

Head Coach: Eddie Jones

  • England couldn’t make it back-to-back wins as they lost a narrow encounter with New Zealand last weekend.

  • After edging out South Africa in the previous week, England couldn’t quite get the better of the All Blacks but were a touch unfortunate as Sam Underhill’s late effort was ruled out by the TMO as his side went down 15-16.

  • George Kruis has been ruled out of the remaining games of the autumn internationals. The second row sustained a calf injury in last week’s loss whilst there are also doubts over Dylan Hartley and Manu Tuilagi.

Head Coach: Jamie Joseph

  • 2019 Rugby World Cup hosts Japan head to Twickenham for the first time as they play England for just the second time.

  • The Japanese conceded 69 points in their last encounter against world champions New Zealand although they score 31 points of their own.

  • After scoring five tries in that game against the All Blacks, they will be hoping for a repeat performance here but will need to tighten up their defence to make it a contest.

England will look to put last weekend’s disappointment behind them at the first opportunity as they host Japan on Saturday. Having lost out by just a single point to New Zealand, England will be hoping to put on a show against the Japanese, a side that conceded 69 points in their last game. The home side start as 31-point favourites with the bookies and they will be confident of covering that handicap.
