Coach: Justin Langer

Captain: Adam Voges

  • The Scorchers have started the season on fire winning all three of their matches so far including one against the Sixers and they will be super confident of getting another one in front of their home fans.
  • Their batting continues to be somewhat vulnerable but they possess the competition’s best bowling attack and have been able to defend relatively low scores thanks to the likes of Mitchell Johnson and Andrew Tye.
  • The Scorchers have to do without another key player as Ashton Agar is the latest player to be called up for national team duty with Australia so Haydan Morton comes into the 13-man squad for him and they are most likely to bring Will Bosisto into the eleven.

Coach: Greg Shipperd

Captain: Moises Henriques

  • The Sixers have lost all three of their matches so far in BBL07 so the pressure is on for them to turn things around quickly starting with this game against the Scorchers who have won all three and beat the Sixers comfortably just before Christmas.
  • They have been hit by the news that captain Moises Henriques is taking personal leave from cricket so that leaves the struggling team without one of their best players for the foreseeable future. Fast bowler Mickey Edwards come into the 13-man squad to replace him.
  • The Sixers are in desperate need of their two international players Jason Roy and Sam Billings who have largely disappointed with the bat so far although Billings has impressed with the gloves last time out.

The Scorchers face the Sixers once again after already having beaten them comfortably just before Christmas. Although they are without Agar now who has been called up by Australia, that is countered by the Sixers losing captain Henriques so the Scorchers will be confident of taking the points thanks to their outstanding bowling attack.
