What was the outcome in the last meeting? Carolina Panthers 17-23 Washington Redskins

  • Washington picked up just their second victory of the season as they were able to edge a low-quality encounter against Detroit and will have to show further improvements if they are to make it back-to-back wins.
  • Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins had his arm in a sling following last week's victory but he is expected to be fit for this game after he was able to log a full practice during Wednesday’s first session of the week.
  • The Redskins named a long injury list at the start of the week and will be most concerned about linebacker Ryan Kerrigan and safety Deshazor Everett who are under the concussion protocol.

  • Carolina pushed New Orleans all the way and should have beaten the Saints but kicker Joey Slye missed a potential game-winning 28-yard field goal late on and that allowed their opponents to go up the other end of the field and win the game on their next drive.
  • The Panthers may look to bring in a new kicker this week after Slye missed two point after attempts on top of his chip-shot field goal in the loss to the Saints and they worked out four different options at the start of the week which places Slye’s place under threat.
  • Rookie offensive tackle Greg Little has had a rough debut year due to concussion issues and it could be about to get worse after suffering an ankle injury that makes him a doubt for this contest.

Carolina put in a superb effort against New Orleans and will wonder where that kind of display has been of late but they were left to rue missed kicks as they fell to a narrow loss. They will need to pick themselves up quickly but if they replicate last week's performance they should be able to beat Washington. The Redskins earned a rare win last week but were not that impressive and this will be a much tougher task with Panthers likely to have too much for them on home turf.
