What was the outcome in the last meeting? Atlanta Falcons 34-31 Seattle Seahawks

  • Seattle could not cope with Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson's rushing game as they fell to just their second defeat of the season but they have a great chance to get back to winning ways as they head to Atlanta to face the struggling Falcons.
  • The Seahawks were without S Bradley McDougald because of a back injury last week and he will hope to return for this contest but with other injuries in the position, Seattle have moved so sign Quandre Diggs in a trade with Detroit.
  • That acquisition gives the Seahawks some depth with fellow S Lano Hill also sitting out last week’s game with an elbow injury and he is set to spend some further time on the sidelines although no timetable has been given for his return.

  • Atlanta's miserable season continued as they were on the end of a heavy defeat against Los Angeles Rams which saw them fall to 1-6 and their hopes of making the post-season already look to be over.
  • Falcons QB Matt Ryan suffered an ankle sprain and is in doubt to suit up for this game with Matt Schaub on standby to line-up under center although there is still some lingering hope that the former can overcome his injury.
  • CB Desmond Trufant has missed the last two games with a toe injury but started running on Wednesday and will hope he can return for this game while DT Grady Jarrett was also held out of practice due to an abdomen injury.

Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn continues to retain the support of the team owner but his position will come under further scrutiny if his team fail to win again in contest. The Falcons are 1-6 and could be without their starting QB in Matt Ryan this week which will not help their cause. Seattle were not at their best last week but did come up against a tough opponent and they should have little trouble in returning to winning ways here.
