What was the outcome in the last meeting? Kansas City Chiefs 10-16 Minnesota Vikings

  • Minnesota continued their winning run as they made it four victories in succession but were not at their best against Washington with a much-improved performance needed if they are to see off Kansas City.
  • The Vikings could be boosted by the return of WR Adam Thielen following the hamstring injury that he suffered in his team's game in Week 7 and with a return to practice on Wednesday in a limited capacity, he should be good to suit up.
  • Only two other Minnesota players were listed on their injury report at the start of the week but DT Linval Joseph and DT Shamar Stephen were both full participants which leaves the Vikings in great health heading into this match.

  • Kansas City played out a brilliant game against Green Bay last week but came out second best as they lost for the third time in four games which has seen the Chiefs drop to 5-3 although they are still relatively comfortable in the AFC West.
  • QB Patrick Mahomes had to sit out last week and the Chiefs are likely to exercise caution again with a Week 10 return more likely as he bids to make a swift recovery from his dislocated kneecap.
  • Chiefs DE Frank Clark suffered a neck injury last week and is considered week-to-week ahead of this game and looks to be in doubt after he had to sit out Wednesday’s first practice of the week.

Kansas City played well in the absence of star QB Patrick Mahomes but could not overcome a strong Green Bay outfit. They now host Minnesota who have won four matches in a row and will be confident of improving that streak to five with the Vikings able to come out on top of this clash. The Chiefs will be desperate to get Mahomes back on the field as soon as possible and know they will be able to pick up wins when he returns to stay in play-off contention.
