What was the outcome in the last meeting? Jacksonville Jaguars 14-30 Kansas City Chiefs

  • Kansas City will look to bounce back from the disappointment of their loss to New England in the AFC Conference Championship last year with QB Patrick Mahomes looking to produce similar numbers to his amazing rookie season.
  • The Chiefs drafted Georgia WR Mecole Hardman but his role will not be as big as anticipated after Kansas City decided to retain fellow WR Tyreek Hill despite his off-field behaviour casting doubts over his future.
  • It could be a healthy looking roster for the Chiefs in Week 1 with just four players listed on their injury report and all of those were full participants at the first practice of the week which should ensure they feature against the Jaguars.

  • Jacksonville suffered a poor season that resulted in them finishing bottom of the AFC South last year with a record of 5-11 but Doug Marrone managed to avoid the sack and he will lead the Jaguars again in 2019.
  • The Jags moved to sign Nick Foles from free agency and he becomes the franchise QB which should lead to an improved year but he will need support from RB Leonard Fournette due to a lack of genuine depth among the receiving corps.
  • A long injury report has been announced by the Jaguars in Week 1 but only OL Cedric Ogbuehi and TE Josh Oliver did not participate with the other sevens listed all taking some part in practice early in the week.

Jacksonville will enter a new era after they finally moved on from Blake Bortles with the Jaguars picking up Nick Foles from free agency. He will surely lead his side to a better season but that might not come in their season opener against the Chiefs with last year's #1 ranked offense able to earn the win to get their year off to a strong start.
