What was the outcome in the last meeting? Carolina Panthers 20-9 Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Jacksonville produced a great comeback as they sealed a win over Denver thanks to Josh Lambo's 33-yard FG as time expired and with that second win in succession, the Jaguars improved to 2-2.
  • Wantaway Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey will continue to be monitored before this game after he missed last week with a back issue but looks to be a doubt once again after he failed to appear in the first two practices of this week.
  • Ramsey is part of a long injury report for the Jaguars but the majority listed have logged at least a partial practice in the first two sessions but DE Lerentree McCray might have aggravated his oblique injury after he sat out on Thursday despite being limited on Wednesday.

  • Carolina were solid winners over Houston as RB Christian McCaffrey played a huge role in leading his side to victory and improve to 2-2 with the Panthers continuing to impress despite struggling with injuries.
  • The Panthers are expected to roll with Kyle Allen at QB once again and could do so for the foreseeable future with head coach Ron Rivera stating there is no timeline on Cam Newton's return.
  • Eight players sat out Thursday’s practice for the Panthers and they will be concerned about their availability ahead of Sunday’s game with veteran TE Greg Olsen back in the concussion protocol whilst S Eric Reed and DT Gerald McCoy were among those on the sidelines.

This could be a great contest between two teams that have shown great improvements over their last two games. Carolina and Jacksonville have both had to field new QBs with their first-choice starters unavailable and they could put on a show in a game that could be a high-scoring affair. A lot may depend on how many of injured players for the Panthers are able to suit-up but if they are relatively healthy, they should be able to edge this on home turf.
