What was the outcome in the last meeting? Cleveland Browns 24-26 Baltimore Ravens

  • Cleveland were made to pay for some poor play-calling as they blew a chance to cause an upset against Los Angeles Rams last week, with their poor offensive showing the main reason behind the defeat.
  • The Browns had to play without their entire starting secondary due to injury last week and although the replacements filled in admirably, they will be desperate for better injury news this week.
  • S Damarious Randall has returned to full practice after missing two weeks with concussion and his return will be important for the Browns but the other members of the starting secondary were all still absent at Wednesday’s practice.

  • Baltimore were condemned to their first defeat of the season as a valiant comeback effort against Kansas City fell just short; Patrick Mahomes coming out on top in the battle of the young QBs with Lamar Jackson.
  • Ravens TE Mark Andrews played through a foot injury last week but is likely to be monitored once again ahead of this contest and his status will remain in some doubt after sitting out Wednesday’s first practice of the week.
  • CB Jimmy Smith and S Brynden Trawick continue to sit out through injury and they are likely to be ruled out of Sunday’s game whilst CB Marlon Humphrey could only log a limited practice on Wednesday with a hip complaint.

Cleveland head coach Freddie Kitchens came under fire for his play-calling against the LA Rams last week and he will be further scrutinised in another tough encounter. The Browns head to Baltimore to face the Ravens who were impressive in defeat last week and the home side should be too strong. If Baltimore had managed to complete their fightback against Kansas City, they would have been classed as one of the genuine contenders this season but they are not too far off and can get back to winning ways in this one.
