  • Carolina were poor as they were defeated by Tampa Bay last week and must improve quickly to find their first win of the season with the Panthers having big issues to fix ahead of this game with Arizona.
  • Panthers QB Cam Newton claimed to be carrying numerous knocks during the contest last week and it showed in his performance with his status for this Week 3 clash firmly up in the air.
  • Newton failed to turn out for practice on both Wednesday and Thursday with back-up Kyle Allen looking the likely starter and may see some snaps even if Newton manages to suit-up as the Panthers look to protect the veteran QB.

  • Arizona showed some good signs against a strong Baltimore side but they fell short in their bid to win their first game of the year with this home game against Carolina presenting the Cardinals a big opportunity to break their duck.
  • They have defeated the Panthers in their last two home games and will be attempting to make it three consecutive victories on home turf against a side that could be missing their first-choice QB.
  • The Cardinals will be monitoring the fitness of star RB David Johnson after he suffered a wrist injury against the Ravens but having lodged two full practices on Wednesday and Thursday, he appears to have shown no ill-effects of that knock.

Carolina must arrest their poor early season form or find themselves in a difficult spot in a competitive NFC South. They head to Arizona who are also yet to win a game but have not been far away in both of their games so far and rookie QB Kyler Murray could pick up his first NFL victory here. The Panthers could come into this with a new QB under center with Cam Newton’s availability unclear but the Cardinals can come out on top regardless.
